Marriott International Inc has announced the launch of its first hotel in Bengaluru. JW Marriott Bengaluru with 18 floors features 270 rooms and 27 suites, with six dining options, a bar, total meeting space of 10,441 sq. ft, nine meeting rooms, swimming pool, fitness center and a spa. The hotel is located in the city’s business district next to UB city. “JW Marriott Bengaluru reflects the sophistication and elegance travellers have come to expect from the JW Marriott brand. Our offerings suit the refined tastes of our international and domestic guests. Our operations in Bengaluru are an integral part of our growth strategy and we hope to set a benchmark of excellence in service with the JW Marriott Bengaluru,” said Rajeev Menon, area vice president – South Asia for Marriott International. The group currently operates 20 hotels in five different bands across the country. It has 47 more hotels under construction and is likely to add 10,000 rooms by 2016-17. Source: Travel Daily
