Natalie Portman As a former child star, Natalie Portman has chosen to make her life far from the public eye. But with Oscars week

upon us the nominated actress is busy fulfilling her obligations by attending a selection of pre-awards parties.

Tonight the actress covered her bump in a white smock dress as she attended the Vanity Fair event at Bar Marmont in Hollywood, California.

Her leading role in The Black Swan, which sees her play a crazed ballet prima donna, earned her universal acclaim and a best actress Oscar nomination.
Portman, who has revealed she is expecting a baby boy with fiancé Benjamin Millepied, is due this summer.
A source close to the couple told Life & Style magazine the pair were 'so excited'.
'They’ve only told a very small group of family members and friends that they’re expecting a son,' the insider said.
'They are so excited. Benjamin cannot wait to be a father.'

Unlike many of her contemporaries, the actress lives her life far from the public eye.
Portman's relationship with her fiancé, The Black Swan choreographer  Millepied, unfolded away from the cameras.
The actress has been in the public eye since appearing in Luc Besson's 1994 film Leon when she was just 13.
She has since starred in dozens of films including the Star Wars prequel trilogy, V For Vendetta and The Other Boleyn Girl.
