How to recreate the beauty look

Giorgio Armani celebrated its 40th anniversary last week with a celebratory runway show and some sumptuous new beauty looks.

Models at the event to mark the opening of the house's new Milan exhibition space Armani / Silos sported a whole range of bold looks to go with their outfits, which offered a retrospective on 40 years of fashion from Armani Privé.

International makeup artist Linda Cantello created a contrast between the makeup and the clothes with a "smokey nude" beauty look. Here's how she did it:

Base
To achieve the effect, Cantello prepped the models' skin with "Crema Nera Acqua Pantellaria" and "Crema Extrema Texture Légère". She then applied the brand's "Crema Nuda" foundation for a smooth and even base, before highlighting and concealing with "High Precision Retouch" and adding blush to cheeks with "Eye & Brow Maestro" in the shade "Auburn" (the product was also used to thicken and bolden brows). A swish of "Luminous Silk Powder" in shade no.2 set the base.

Eyes
Cantello brushed Eye & Brow Maestro in the tones "Wenge Wood" and "Sand Blond" along eye sockets and defined peepers with the brand's "Smooth Silk Eye Pencil" in "Brown Black" before going over it with the Eye & Brow Maestro in Wenge Wood to soften the effect.

Finishing touches
A few layers of "Black Ecstasy" mascara and a slick of "Rouge d'Armani Lipstick" in the shade "Gio40" wrapped up the look. "Night Viper" nail polish from the "Nail Lacquer" collection provided the final finishing touches to the aesthetic.
