Weather conditions are expected to prevail.
Amman - petra

Pleasant weather conditions are expected to prevail on Wednesday in most parts of the Kingdom, while it will be relatively warm in the Dead Sea and the Jordan Valley with high clouds and southwesterly light to moderate winds, according to the Jordan Meteorological Department (JMD.

Clouds at various altitudes will start to build up in the evening, creating partly cloudy to cloudy skies with a chance for light showers in various areas of the country, while winds will be westerly moderate, the JMD said.

Maximum temperatures for today in Amman and the northern cites will reach 22 degrees Celsius, dropping down to 12 and 13 degrees respectively. The weather will be warmer in the port city of Aqaba with highs reaching 31 degrees and lows standing at 21 at night.

Mercury levels will drop few degrees on Thursday, so it will be partly cloudy with a chance for scatted showers in various regions, while winds will be westerly moderate to brisk at times, the JMD noted.

On Thursday, the Kingdom will be affected by a depression centered over southern Cyprus. Therefore, a tangible drop in temperatures is expected, creating relatively cold and partly cloudy weather across many regions with rainfall at times.

Heavy rain is also expected at times in the western areas of the country, accompanied by thunder and hail, causing floods in valleys and lowlands, while winds will be westerly moderate to brisk, the department further said.
