Wafaa Amer: My fans call me ‘Karioka’

Egyptian actress Wafaa Amer has said she is delighted at the response to her performance in the television show "Karioka" in which she plays late actress and belly dancer Tahya Karioka. The star is currently at the northern village of Marina for a relaxing holiday after a hectic shoot. Wafaa told Arabstoday in an exclusive interview: “I did not expect such praise for the first few episodes of the series, when fans meet me in streets they praise me and some even address me as 'Karioka'...I promise to perform even better in future episodes." “I'm holidaying in Marina with my husband, producer Mohamed Fawzy, and my son Omar who asked me for this trip because school will be back on in a few weeks.” “Karioka” stars Wafaa Amer, Fadia Abdel Ghany, Ezzat Abo Ouf, Mohamed Ramadan and Tamer Abdel Moniem.
