'Fear the Walking Dead' first-look promo released

AMC has released a first-look promo for The Walking Dead companion series Fear the Walking Dead.

The 30-second clip, called "Nick's Escape," shows a terrified, open-shirted man, fleeing for his life down a deserted Los Angeles street, as he desperately tries to pull up his pants. Frank Dillane will play Nick on the series.

The video has gotten nearly 700,000 views since it was posted on YouTube Friday.

The companion series is to follow characters and storylines that are different from those featured in the Georgia- and Virginia-set The Walking Dead. The new show is to premiere in August on the cable television network, with a cast that includes Cliff Curtis, Kim Dickens and Alycia Debnam Carey.
