Syria says ceasefire 'real opportunity' for political solution

A ceasefire soon to take effect across Syria is a "real opportunity" for a political solution to the nearly six-year war, the country's foreign minister said Thursday.
"There is a real opportunity for a political solution to the crisis to bring an end to the bloodshed," Walid Muallem told state television.
The ceasefire brokered by Russia and Turkey is due to begin at midnight (2200 GMT Thursday).
