Franken to resign from US Senate after harassment claims

US Senator Al Franken announced Thursday he will resign in the wake of multiple sexual harassment claims against him, the second prominent Democrat to be forced out over misconduct allegations.
"Today I am announcing that in the coming weeks I will be resigning as a member of the United States Senate," said Franken, a former comedian who has been accused by at least seven women of inappropriately touching them.
