Danone buys US organic producer WhiteWave Foods

French dairy giant Danone said Thursday it had bought US organic foods producer and distributor WhiteWave Foods in a deal that values the US company at $12.5 billion (11.3 billion euros). The transaction will allow Danone to double its business in the US, the French group said in a statement, adding it expected to finalise the deal by the end of the year. |
