Dubai - Arab Today

Dubai Residents are in for a musical treat this Eid Al Fitr as famous Arab singers will take centre stage at Layali Dubai in a series of concerts. Performers from Lebanon, Morocco, Iraq, Saudi Arabia and the UAE will entertain â??Eid in Dubai’ crowds at the Layali Dubai concerts beginning on August 9 at the Dubai World Trade Centre (DWTC), according to the Dubai Festivals and Retail Establishment (DFRE), an agency of the Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing. Morocco’s Mona Amarcha and Emirati heart-throb Hussain Al Jasmi will serenade audiences on the first salvo of the Layali Dubai. On August 10, Emirati crooner Ahlam, a member of the judges’ panel on Arab Idol, and Walid Al Shami, a promising young artiste from Iraq, will entertain guests at Layali Dubai. Saudi singer Rabeh Saqr and Lebanese superstar and Unicef Goodwill ambassador Nancy Ajram will entertain â??Eid in Dubai’ audiences on August 11. Veteran entertainer Mohammad Abdo from Saudi Arabia will give a grand performance on the final night on August 12. Concert tickets are priced from Dh150 to Dh1,500. If there’s something for adults, there’s also something for children to enjoy this season, DFRE said. Four internationally renowned cartoon characters — Thomas the Tank Engine, Dora the Explorer, Ben 10 and Hello Kitty — will be in town for a series of shows from August 9 to September 4. Thomas is back with his friends to entertain children with another series of shows at Modhesh World at Hall No 1 of DWTC from August 9 to 21. Dora the Explorer will take her adventures to Dubai Festival City Mall from August 15 to 21 with three daily shows. Ben 10 and his crew will join the “Summer is Dubai” celebrations at Mirdif City Centre from August 22 to 28 while Hello Kitty will visit children at BurJuman from August 29 to September 4.
