New York - UPI
Taylor Swift is to perform on "Dick Clark's New Year's Rockin' Eve with Ryan Seacrest 2013" in New York's Times Square, ABC said Friday. The network's Dec. 31 programming will feature a tribute to music television icon Dick Clark, who died in April at age 82. TV personality and author Jenny McCarthy will help out during the event in Manhattan, while singer Fergie will emcee festivities in Los Angeles. "I remember meeting and listening to Taylor Swift perform before she even had her first single. I was blown away by her talent and just knew that she would be a huge success," Seacrest, who will lead the countdown to 2013 on the holiday show, said in a statement Friday. "Taylor is truly this year's global star and is the perfect artist to ring in the New Year for us at the crossroads of the world."
