Twenty nine wounded Yemenis today returned to their homes in Aden after receiving successful medical treatment in India at UAE expense.

The humanitarian medical gesture is in implementation of the directives of President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, and under the supervision of The Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, and His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces.

They were received by Jumaa Al Mazrouei, Director of the Emirates Red Crescent, ERC, team in Aden, and a number of ERC employees.

The UAE has so far paid for the treatment of 300 injured Yemenis and for their escorts as part of its assistance programme to Yemen.

It has pledged to treat 1,500 wounded Yemenis at hospitals in Jordan, Sudan and India, and has sent relief and medical convoys to Yemen. The Yemeni people praised the humanitarian gesture of the UAE, especially its leadership for their generous help.
