A number of members of the Executive Council were sworn-in before His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi, Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces and Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Executive Council, at Qasr Al Bahr in Abu Dhabi.

The members designated were, H.H. Sheikh Dhiyab bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Chairman of the Transport Authority and member of the Executive Council, Saif Mohammed Al Hajeri, Chairman of the Department of Economic Development and member of the Executive Council, Falah Mohamed Al Ahbabi, Chairman of the Urban Planning Council and Municipalities, and Mohamed Khalifa Al Mubarak, Chairman of the Culture and Tourism Authority and member of the Executive Council.

Present at the swearing-in ceremony were H.H. Sheikh Tahnoun bin Mohammed Al Nahyan, Abu Dhabi Ruler`s Representative in the Al Ain Region, and H.H. Sheikh Hazza bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Chairman of Abu Dhabi Executive Council.

His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed congratulated the members of the Executive Council, and encouraged them to strengthen the spirit of the team in order to achieve the desired development goals.

Sheikh Mohamed thanked the former members for their sincere efforts during their term of office in the council, which played an important role in the development of the emirate, and wished the new members success in their future missions. He expressed his confidence that they will represent a rich addition to the council during the coming period.

"The next stage of development requires innovative visions because we are living in a world that is developing at an unprecedented pace. This development must be kept at the level of thought and action, and through promoting economic diversification, building the knowledge economy and investing in the human element, and giving great attention to education," Sheikh Mohamed stressed.

His Highness said that the process of developing the governmental work system is proceeding with confidence and steadfastness to assert its global leadership to continue achieving success in all sectors of government work. He emphasised the need to keep abreast of global developments and follow the best standards in the field of government administration based on innovative practices, support young energies and enable them to lead.

"I am urging all officials to promote the concepts of institutional excellence, positive and proactive, as they are the way to achieve the aspirations of the UAE, its citizens and residents, to reach the highest standards of living and social happiness within a comprehensive formula that takes into account the efficient use of resources, preserves our long-standing national heritage, and builds generations, to ensure a bright and sustainable future for our children," Sheikh Mohamed added.

He continued, "We are all one team, united by goals and aspirations that can only be realised through the sincere efforts of the people of this benevolent country, which has become a destination and a global model for those seeking success, stability and development."

The ceremony was also attended by H.H. Sheikh Nahyan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan Charitable and Humanitarian Foundation , H.H. Lt. General Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Interior, and H.H. Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Presidential Affairs, along with a number of Sheikhs, ministers and members of Abu Dhabi's Executive Council.
