Abu Dhabi Ports, the master developer, operator and manager of Abu Dhabi's commercial and community ports as well as Khalifa Industrial Zone, KIZAD, received a delegation from the National Defence College at KIZAD’s headquarters in Taweelah to observe the ports’ safety procedures, prevention plans, crisis management and preparedness.

The delegation was headed by Brigadier Staff Eng. Hamad Juma Al Neyadi, Deputy Commander of National Defence College, and received by the CEO of Abu Dhabi Ports, Captain Mohammed Juma Al Shamisi, as well as senior management at Abu Dhabi Ports.

The visit began with a tour of KIZAD’s Visitor Centre and highlighted the latest developments and plans on site. The delegation learned about crisis management at Abu Dhabi Ports as well as emergencies and crises response plans and systems.

The delegation toured several facilities in both KIZAD and Khalifa Port, including the Khalifa Port Container Terminal, one of the world's fastest growing container ports. They also visited the emergency response facility, the control room and crisis centre.

Captain Mohammed Al Shamisi, while expressing his pleasure at the visit said, "This visit comes in the framework of strengthening our relationship with the National Defence College, which has succeeded in developing its students’ knowledge of national strategy and security as well as the principles, tools and concepts of leadership and planning at the strategic level. The visit focussed on crisis management, a subject that, we as Abu Dhabi Ports, are very serious about due to our industrial and marine assets and sharing our experience in this field."

During the visit, Abu Dhabi Ports and the delegation discussed methods of co-operation, exchanging knowledge and planned visits to achieve those goals. The visit highlighted Abu Dhabi Ports’ efforts to promote collaboration and co-operation with various educational entities in the UAE.
