Jordanian Minister of Culture, Nabih Shaqam, has praised the UAE pavilion at the Amman International Book Fair, saying that the pavilion reflected the development, prosperity and comprehensive renaissance witnessed by the United Arab Emirates, in addition to "reflecting a true and honourable picture of the development of the cultural and knowledge sectors in the country by Emirati intellectuals."

He added, "The UAE pavilion is a true reflection of the country's development in all fields , taking its visitors on a journey through the past, present and the future."

This came during the minister's visit to the UAE pavilion, when he was accompanied by Afra Al Sabri, Under-Secretary of the Ministry of Culture and Knowledge Development, and Matar Saif Al-Shamsi, Ambassador of the UAE in Jordan, on Wednesday 4th of October.

Shaqam lauded the various book collections and the Arabic calligraphy and fine arts paintings which are adorning the pavilion, reflecting the varied talents of Emirati artists. He also lauded the participation of a large number of UAE cultural institutions with the support of the Ministry of Culture and Knowledge Development, the official supporter of culture and arts in the UAE, in addition to the diversity of Arabic publications translated into other languages.

The Jordanian Minister of Culture took the opportunity to thank Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Culture and Knowledge Development, for his outstanding role in the cultural sector in the UAE in particular, and the Arab world in general, contributing to the development of the UAE.

He added that the long-standing brotherly and cultural relationships between the Kingdom of Jordan and the United Arab Emirates resulted in the development of cultural and knowledge exchange.

Afra Al Sabri, Under-Secretary of the Ministry of Culture in the UAE, passed on the greetings of Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Culture and Knowledge Development, and his appreciation to the Government and people of the Kingdom of Jordan for choosing the UAE to be the Guest of Honour at this year's exhibition.

"We are pleased to be present at this great cultural event, which is one of the most important Arab platforms. The pavilion vividly reflects the UAE cultural scene with its creativity, arts, heritage and knowledge and includes more than 12 independent cultural bodies," Al Sabri commented.
