The Arab League Council on Tuesday asserted the necessity of respecting the territorial integrity of Libya and maintaining its political independence.

At a meeting here, the council urged renouncing violence and supporting the political process in the North African country.

In a released statement, it added that there is now an urgent need for outlining an Arab strategy that guarantees supporting the Libyan militarily in the face of terrorist Daesh group.

The council urged the international community to support the Libyan government in the face of violations and massacres committed by Daesh terrorist group in Libya.
