UK Minister Urges Lawmakers Not To Delay Brexit
London - Arab Today

British MP David Davis, who has been the Secretary of State for Exiting the European Union since 2016, on Sunday said Parliament must not be able to veto Britain's decision to leave the European Union, urging lawmakers to reject proposed changes to legislation that gives Prime Minister Theresa May the power to begin exit talks.
Davis said lawmakers should pass a bill authorizing exit talks on Monday without amendments so the government can enter EU negotiations."However they voted in the referendum, the majority of people now want the prime minister to be able to get on with the job," Davis said in a statement.
British MPs are set to debate The European Union Bill on Monday, where they will decide whether to approve two amendments added by the House of Lords. This will then clear the way for the Prime Minister to trigger Britain’s divorce from the EU by the next day. But Brexit could be delayed again if at least ten Tories oppose the Government or abstain in the vote on the Bill.
