His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa received at Safriya Palace today Labour and Social Development Minister Jamil bin Mohammed Ali Humaidan and a number of ministry employees.
HM the King welcomed them, stressing keenness to follow up on the public institutions’ work through periodic meetings with the national competencies. He praised the efforts of the work force in promoting comprehensive national development, thanking the minister and the ministry staff for their remarkable efforts to provide job opportunities for citizens as well as train and groom the national work force.
HM the King said those efforts brought about a remarkable national achievement by keeping the unemployment rate at its lowest, providing social assistance for needy families and catering for the labour market requirements.
He also praised the ministry’s support of voluntary and charity work as well as the civil society institutions.
HM the King underlined the key role of civil society institutions in fast-tracking development and modernisation, ensuring cultural diversity and civilisational openness and shaping the trade union movement which has exercised its role responsibly and professionally for more than 70 years. He lauded the national experience in achieving the national development goals, pointing out Bahrain’s success to improve many indices, including the economic development one and job seeking rates, thanks to its comprehensive development policy and well-studied programmes.
The minister paid tribute to HM the King for his support to the ministry, describing the comprehensive reform march as a road map for local and international achievements.
He lauded the valuable directives of His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa and the support of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Premier, to map out an advanced vision for the future and enable a robust economy to generate to generate more decent job opportunities for citizens.
The minister underscored Bahrain’s accomplishments in the labour and social fields thanks to a comprehensive national strategy to tap on human potentials and protect the family and the community.
HM the King was presented gifts from the productive families’ products. HM hosted a lunch banquet in honour of the ministry staff.
