Salem Abdullah Al-Sakhtari denied any rumors about abandoning the archipelago for the benefit of Emirates
Aden - Saleh El Mansoob

The campaign launched by Reform Party against Emirates’ role in Yemen was bounced on them ,after the great sympathy shown by Yemeni leaders.

The governor of Socotra , Salem Abdullah Al-Sakhtari denied any rumors about abandoning the archipelago for the benefit of Emirates , saying that what was reported in the media is baseless ,and it was made up by the party in attempt to raise their popularity among the Yemeni people . He also praised the great effort carried by UAE in different provinces in Yemen through a number of charity projects ,especially in Aden and Hadramout.

According to sources , the Reform Party  launched a campaign against Emirates for standing up against it ,claiming that Socotra Island has become outside the control of Yemeni legitimacy and under their full control, as they see the lack of Emirati trust in their associations.

Yemeni activists had expressed their resentment against this campaign , as UAE is considered a great alliance to Yemen and indispensable in the Arab Coalition . Using their media rooms to complete this campaign ,accusing Emirates with different things like working for Houthis and Abdullah Saleh , and the assassination of some leaders like , Deputy Chief of Staff Ahmed Saif Yafie .

Despite the role carried by Emirates in Yemen and its great charitable role ,yet the Yemeni citizen is affected by this campaign , While sources showed that Reform Party is seeking to divide the two sides ,by spreading rumors from time to time ,adding that the party is trying to take revenge from Emirates for their stand from Egypt’s Brotherhood which they help to overthrown.

Another security source said that the party didn’t gain anything in Aden , so they launched the Airport campaign, claiming that Emirates used their own troops to stop president Abd Rabbuh Mansour Hadi from landing , while other sources said that the party is focusing in media to serve their own good ,using the national channels to reflect a good image of the party.

Media presenter Rahmah Hjira announced that Reform party can not be trusted ,and even the ordinary citizen wonders about the purpose of such campaign against Emirates , adding that even the previous president Ali Nasar Mohammed was accused of aliening with Emirates against his own country.

The poet Ali al-Bajiri mentioned that he saw the news about Socotra island and called Ali Nasar himself and he denied the rumors, adding that the Yemeni people is grateful to the UAE ,but the party has a different opinion and is trying to force it on everyone, concluding that the party is only doing such actions because of Emirates’ stand against them .
