U.S Pentagon refused to comment on the reports over sending two thousand American soldiers to the western side of the country, due to the secrecy of operations. Spokesperson of the U.S Central Command Josh Jakes said that they will not give any more details over the American troops existed in both Iraq and Syria to keep the secrecy of operations and the security of the soldiers.

Jakes stressed that the U.S intensifies its efforts to fight against ISIS in cooperation with the forces of its allies in Iraq and Syria. The statements came to respond to the reports published over sending two thousand soldiers to Ain Al Assad military base existed in Ramadi city of Iraq’s Anbar province to participate in the fight against the extremists in Iraq.

The Ministry of Defense’s War Media Cell said in a press statement, “Some media outlets reported that 2000 US soldiers have arrived in Ayn al-Assad base in Anbar Province,” adding that, “These news is false and inaccurate.”

Yesterday, some news claimed that 2000 US Marine soldiers arrived in Ayn al-Assad base in Anbar Province, as an aid from the United States, which leads the international coalition, to Iraq in its war against the Islamic State.

The news also pointed out that these troops will participate in the expected military operations to liberate the areas of Anah, Rawa and Qaim, west of Anbar. More than 4000 troops belonging to the United States are stationed in military bases in the western provinces of Iraq and Kurdistan Region, to provide training to Iraqi forces fighting the Islamic State group.

Iraqi Federal police troops stormed Bab Al Tob district of Mousl’s right bank, as they controlled a number of buildings in which they deployed snipers. Meanwhile, Iraqi joint forces resumed their advance towards their objectives to liberate the city in cooperation with the Iraqi fighter jets and International Coalition’s air forces.

The Defense Ministry’s War Media Cell said Sunday Federal Police and Rapid Response teams invaded Bab al-Toub, an area adjacent to the Old City. It said the snipers were deployed above the district’s highest buildings. The teams are also conducting searches and evacuating civilians from the neighboring Okaidat and Dawasah districts.

According to the statement, the Iraqi troops managed to kill a number of extremists and destroy six bombing wheels and a motorcycle in addition to bombing over 15 explosive devices. It added that they resumed cleansing the liberated villages and areas from the remnants of the extremist group.

Iraqi Federal Police announced on Sunday liberating Souk al-Arbaa and al-Remah Square in Bab al-Toub, in central Mosul. Federal Police Chief, Lieutenant General Raed Shaker Jawdat, said in a press statement, “Troops of the Federal Police liberated Souk al-Arbaa and al-Remah Square in Bab al-Toub, in central Mosul.”
