Deputy Chinese Foreign Minister Zhang Ming
Beijing - MENA

China, the world's second largest oil market, and Saudi Arabia on Thursday signed MOUs and letters of intent potentially worth about 65 billion dollars during Saudi King Salman's visit to Beijing.

Deputy Chinese Foreign Minister Zhang Ming said the agreements involved investment, energy, space and other areas.

Saudi King Salman ben Abdel Aziz and Chinese President Xi Jinping attended the signing ceremony.

King Salman is on a month-long Asian tour, his first since taking the throne in 2015 after the death of his brother King Abdullah.

Talks between the two leaders tackled the Palestinian issue, the situation in Syria and Yemen as well as anti-terrorism efforts.

King Salman will meet on Friday with Prime Minister Li Keqiang and other senior officials.
