Russian warplanes tightened airstrikes on militants strongholds in Syria's Lattakia countryside as of Friday night.
The warplanes encircled the district to immobilize militants there.
Meanwhile, sources said that field commanders in the Syrian army and national defense are considering a plan to storm Salma city.
Salma is the largest residential gathering in areas controlled by armed groups in the Lattakia countryside, sources added.
Sources said that hundreds of newly constructed cement blocks and dozens of side roads connecting to neighboring villages make the upcoming battles look like a street war expected to be long-term battles.
