The duties of Uralkali CEO are currently preformed by Chief Financial Officer Viktor Belyakov, according to an official statement of the company. Belyakov accepted the corresponding duties because Vladislav Baumgertner, CEO and Board member of Uralkali, that arrived August 26 to Belarus on invitation of Belarusian Prime Minister Mikhail Myasnikovich, remains in custody. According to available information, he has the status of accused and is being held in the detention center of Belarusian Committee for State Security. “The company renounces all charges brought by Belarusian Investigative Committee and takes all possible measures to release him as soon as possible. The Russian government also takes steps to protect the rights of a Russian citizen in custody,” the statement of Uralkali said.
