Turkish professional chambers of commerce will go to polls across the country in 2014, said Customs and Trade Minister Hayati Yazici on Wednesday. The election process includes over 3,000 professional chambers and Turkish Tradesmen's and Artisans' Confederation (TESK), and over 1.5 million people will participate, a statement by the minister said. “Elections will be held in a democratic environment of accountability. We are watching the process very closely,” Minister Yazici said. 2014 is set to be a year of elections for Turkey as it expects local elections in March and a presidential poll in August.
