The registrations of new passenger cars in Austria sharply declined in the past three quarters compared with the same period of last year, official statistics showed on Tuesday. "In the first nine months of 2013, the overall registrations of new passenger cars amounted to 248,111 units which represents a decrease of 7.0 percent," said Statistics Austria, an independent federal institution of the country. The decline of new car demands in Austria is expected to impose more pressure on the country's economy which is deemed as a pacesetter of the eurozone member states in the debt crisis period, while the country's jobless rate is increasing.
