Qatar will grant Egypt 10 million U. S. dollars to help get the looted funds back, official MENA news agency quoted Qatari Prosecutor General Ali al-Muri as saying in a statement on Thursday. The statement came following Muri's meeting with Arab League ( AL) Secretary-General Nabil al-Arabi to resume consultations between both sides to restore the money stolen from the Arab spring countries. An initiative to bring the funds back was discussed, MENA said, adding that it will be tackled during a meeting between foreign ministers of European countries and AL countries in mid-November. In September, Qatari Prime Minister Sheikh Hamad bin Jassim al- Thani announced that Qatar will pump 18 billion dollars in forms of investment in Egypt in the next five years.
