Mexican President Enrique Pena Nieto called on citizens Sunday to work for a country of peace and tranquility, and acknowledged labor as a pillar of the country's economic stability. Celebrating the 77th anniversary of the founding of the Confederation of Workers of Mexico (CTM), Pena Nieto said the modernization of labor-management relations under law was essential and had made a huge and momentous contribution to labor peace in the country. The participation of the CTM was essential to achieving the goals the government had set in terms of economic growth, employment generation and social development, Pena Nieto said. "Today, I invite you, together we will perform actions and reforms that the country demands, to ensure prosperity and development for all Mexicans," he said.
