US President Barack Obama said at a campaign rally on Friday that better-than-expected job figures proved that the economy was turning around, dpa reported. 'This morning we learned that companies hired more people in October than at any time in the last eight months,' Obama said in Hilliard, Ohio, after the Labour Department said payrolls grew by 171,000 jobs in October even as the unemployment rate rose to 7.9 per cent. 'We have made real progress, but we are here today because we know we have more work to do,' he said, noting that as long as there is 'a single American who wants a job but can't find one ... our fight goes on we've got more work to do.'
