Jazeera Airways announced acquiring the highest operational rations compared to the aviation companies operating in the Middle East destinations, namely (Amman, Beirut Bahrain, Dubai, Sharm El-Sheikh, Assuit, Luxor, and Sohag) during last April. Jazeera ranked the first in on-time performance against all other airlines in the Middle East during the month with a performance of 91%, as ranked by the independent US-based OTP tracker FlightStats, a report of Jazeera April performance added. Jazeera Airways grabbed a 38% market share on the Kuwait-Beirut route, a 15% market share on the Kuwait-Dubai route, and a 10% market share on the Kuwait-Bahrain route. The airline also saw an increase in passenger numbers on the Kuwait-Dubai and Kuwait-Jeddah routes, with a 6% and 8% increase respectively compared to April 2012. Jazeera Airways was also the leading airline on the Kuwait-Amman route capturing a 44% market share, with an increase of 20% in passenger numbers on the route compared to last year. On the Egyptian routes, the airline saw an increase of 27% in passenger numbers on the Kuwait-Sharm El Sheikh route compared to the same period last year, 6% on the Kuwait-Assuit route, 47% on the Kuwait-Luxor route, and 39% on the Kuwait-Sohag route. Jazeera Airways was the leading airline serving Sharm El Sheikh, Assuit, Luxor, and Sohag with a 62%, 53%, 72% and 54% market share respectively. Jazeera Airways, established in 2005, Jazeera Airways Group is a Kuwait Stock Exchange-listed company. The company has 13 fully-owned Airbus A320s in operation, distributed between its airline business, Jazeera Airways (which operates seven aircraft), and its fully-owned leasing business, Sahaab Aircraft Leasing (which operates six aircraft). Sahaab has assets placed with Virgin America, SriLankan Airlines, Nasair and Jazeera Airways. In 2012 the airline carried 1.1 million passengers in total across its network that includes today high-demand business, leisure, family, and weekend destinations such as Dubai, Bahrain, Beirut, Alexandria, Amman, Damascus, Istanbul, Sharm El Sheikh, Assiut, Luxor, Mashhad, Sohag, Jeddah, Riyadh, Cairo and Al Najaf. Jazeera Airways is an IATA member airline and operates one of the youngest Airbus A320 fleets in the Middle East.
