The government of Pakistan has released Rs50 billion ($531.91 million) for implementation of the Public Sector Development Programme (PSDP) in about two and a half months, accounting for 21 per cent of the Rs233 billion ($2.478 billion) federal development programme. The Planning Commission said on Friday that it had released Rs50 billion for the PSDP projects on Sept.14. Another Rs10 billion is expected to be released during the remaining days of the current month, taking releases for the first quarter to about Rs60 billion or about 26 per cent of the total funds available.
