Boeing and Safran Morpho signed agreements, at the Paris Airshow, to take chalets at the third edition of Bahrain International Airshow taking place at the Sakhir Airbase in the Kingdom of Bahrain from January 16 to 18, 2014. The commitments of both the organisations add further weight to the Kingdom’s growing strength as a strategic location in the Middle East for business and trade. The new signings bring the event to over 75 per cent sold. With the recent announcement regarding the expansion plans for Bahrain’s International Airport, BIAS looks set to be a prosperous show offering many new business opportunities. With the remaining chalets either reserved or under negotiation, airshow organisers, Ministry of Transportation, Bahrain Civil Aviation Authority and Farnborough International Ltd (FIL) are urging those interested in attending the show to get in contact at the earliest opportunity. Bahrain’s Minister for Transportation and member of the Supreme Organising Committee of BIAS, Kamal Bin Ahmed Mohamed, said, "Bahrain’s strategic location at the heart of the gulf makes it a hub for air travel across the Middle East and gateway to the world. In light of the expansion plans, BIAS is even more of an ideal venue to discuss business with aircraft manufacturers and other associated businesses." Commercial Director at FIL Amanda Stainer, added, "Now just over six months away, BIAS provides a totally personalised experience with easy access to high-level delegations and the opportunity to meet with industry peers and customers. It’s a truly unique business-to-business event. With confirmed bookings from a variety of Middle-East and international companies including Lockheed Martin, TAG Aeronautics, Gulfstream, Lufthansa Technik, Gulf Air and Bahrain Airport Services to name just a few, we’re looking forward to an excellent show."
