Bahraini investor Fouad Shuwaitar signed a $63.8 million deal to build a miniature Disneyland project in Muharraq, officials in Bahrain said Saturday. Trade Arabia newspaper said the massive project will see the overhaul of the Grand Muharraq Garden. "The place will be turned into an extravagant theme park, a miniature Disneyland, with new rides, a bowling center, hi-tech video games, international chain restaurants and now two health clubs to replace the motels -- one for men and the other for women," Muharraq Council Chairman Abdulnasser al-Mahmeed said. Trade Arabia said on Saturday the plans provisioned for the construction of the biggest bowling alley in the Middle East with 45 lanes, a medical center, restaurants, coffee shops and hotels. The park will also have its own ambulance and helicopter on standby, in case of emergencies.
