Tokyo - BNA

Tokyo stocks finished higher for the first time in four trading days Thursday, with the Nikkei Stock Average rising 121.25 points, or 0.91%, to end the session at 13,459.71. An overnight rise in the Dow Jones industrial average and a pause in the dollar's fall against the yen prompted investors to buy back blue chips, according to (Nikkei) website. Dip-buying also supported the rise, as the benchmark index had fallen 322 points over the previous three trading days through Wednesday. Trading value on the first section of the Tokyo Stock Exchange totaled 1.47 trillion yen on a preliminary basis.
