Grain futures prices were mixed Monday on the Chicago Board of Trade. Corn was up 1/4 to up 3; soybeans were off 5 3/4 to off 16 1/2; wheat was off 6 1/4 to off 10 1/4 and oats were off 2 to off 6 1/4. Corn prices rose with prices firming after early losses. Wheat futures lost ground moving five to 10 cents lower, as the dollar moved higher with investors in Europe flocking to U.S. greenbacks after it became known a proposed European Union bailout for Cyprus would include a tax on Cypriot bank deposits. Soybeans were also pressured by the dollar and by expectations that exports from Brazil would soon reach a peak. The prices: Corn: May 7.20 up 3, Jly 7.03 1/4 up 3, Sep 5.88 1/4 up 1 1/2, Dec 5.62 up 1/4. Soybeans: May 14.09 1/2 off 16 1/2, Jly 13.94 1/2 off 16 1/4, Aug 13.56 3/4 off 13 1/2, Sep 12.95 3/4 off 5 3/4. Wheat: May 7.12 3/4 off 10 1/4, Jly 7.13 off 8 1/4, Sep 7.19 3/4 off 7, Dec. 7.32 3/4 off 6 1/4. Oats: May 3.95 1/2 off 6 1/4, Jly 3.86 1/2 off 2, Sep 3.75 off 2, Dec 3.95 off 5 1/4.
