The benchmark DAX index at the Frankfurt Stock Exchange climbed up Monday by 1.68 percent and closed at 9245.33 points.
The DAX recovered from its slump of Friday where it lost about 1.5 percent. "The crisis in Ukraine has not worsened over the weekend," said market analyst Kornelius Barczynski from the broker company GKFX, and good moods from Wall Street also supported the German stock market.
All of the DAX 30 companies managed to increase, led by the automotive manufacturer Continental AG which went up by 3.29 percent. The conglomerate corporation ThyssenKrupp AG followed with a rise of 2.63 percent. The agricultural chemical and salt company K+S Aktiengesellschaft the medical supplier Fresenius Medical Care AG & Co. and the building materials company HeidelbergCement AG were also among the top five rises, up by 2.42 percent, 2.34 percent and 2.20 percent respectively.
The reinsurance company Munchener Ruck AG was the one with the least increase on Monday, up by 0.44 percent.
The turnover stood at 2.26 billion euros (around 3.02 billion U.S. dollars)
