The U.S. dollar traded in the lower 109 yen range on early Friday morning in Tokyo deals, almost unchanged from its overnight levels in New York.
At 9 a.m., the dollar was quoted at 109.22-23 yen compared with 109.17-27 yen in New York and 109.17-19 yen in Tokyo at 5 p.m. Thursday.
The euro fetched 1.2609-2609 dollars and 137.72-73 yen against 1.2608-2618 dollars and 137.68-78 yen in New York and 1.2589-2590 dollars and 137.44-48 yen in Tokyo late Thursday afternoon.
