Vanuatu is committed to furthering ties with China, the Pacific island country's political parties and government officials have told a visiting goodwill delegation of the Communist Party of China (CPC).

The delegation, led by Xu Lvping, vice minister of the International Department of the Central Committee of CPC, paid a goodwill visit to Vanuatu from Monday to Wednesday, meeting with Sato Kilman, leader of the People's Progress Party and prime minister; Moana Carcasses, leader of the Green Confederation and deputy prime minister, as well as others.

The Chinese side is willing to enhance party-to-party exchanges with Vanuatu, so that the two countries can broaden understanding, consolidate mutual trust, pursue common progress and further bilateral ties, Xu said.

In response, the Vanuatu side said that political parties in Vanuatu value the friendship and cooperation with the CPC, and the Pacific island country will adhere to the one-China principle and is committed to promoting relations with China to a higher level.
