Tunisian authorities seize over $1m smuggled gold shipment

Tunisian authorities have thwarted an attempt to smuggle a huge shipment of solid gold worth just over USD one million on board a truck.
The raid was made in the coastal city of Sfax, located southeast of the capital, Tunis, the Ministry of Interior was quoted by Agence Tunis Afrique Press (TAP) as saying.
The smuggling operation is thought to be carried out by an international network, added the statement, mentioning that the Tunisian truck driver is undergoing investigations.
