Egyptian PM Ibrahim Mahlab
Luxor - MENA

Prime Minister Ibrahim Mahlab inspected the second sphinx-lined road (Kabash Avenue) in Luxor, which is being renovated by the Arab Contractors Company and unearthed in 2010.

Mahlab assigned the company to complete the ancient path's renovation as soon as possible. The cost is estimated at EGP 25 million.

The premier, escorted by a number of ministers, also visited the "Hadary" popular market, which has been prepared by the governorate for street vendors.

The governor said nearly 233 shops were built for the street peddlers, who will be chosen by lottery, he said.

Mahlab also inspected the Luxor general hospital, which is being completely overhauled by the Armed Forces.

The project's total cost is nearly EGP 119 million and will be carried out in two years, the health minister has said.

The project includes the expansion of the hospital and adding new buildings at an area of 1,600 square meters.

The prime minister then headed to a vacant land owned by the Egyptian General Company for Tourism and Hotels (EGOTH) to seek its investment and remove encroachments on it. A resort comprising three hotels, to be overlooking the Nile, Luxor Temple and Kabash Avenue, is expected to be built on the land.

He then visited a hotel project underway, owned by the Awqaf Authority and EGOTH, and a number of bazaars and shops in the area.
