Dubai Police enters Guinness Book of World Records with fastest patrol
Dubai - Arab Today

Major General Abdullah Khalifa Al Marri, Commander in Chief of Dubai Police, received the Guinness certificate from the Guinness Book of World Records for the fastest police patrol in the world, using the Bugatti Veyron sports car.

The ceremonies, on the sidelines of the 11th International Summit for the Best Police Applications, were attended by Major General Abdul Qoddous Abdulraziq Al Obaidly, Assistant of the Commander in Chief for Quality and Exceptionalism Matters, and a number of Dubai Police officers. The speed of the Bugatti Veyron sports car, the fastest patrol car in the world, can reach 407 kilometres per hour at 1,000 horsepower, surpassing the previous police patrol record that was registered under a USA police force using a Lamborghini sports car, which reached a speed of 360 kilometres per hour.

Deploying the Bugatti Veyron is part of strengthening the Dubai Police’s fleet of patrol cars, which include the following models: McLaren MP4-12C, Lamborghini Aventador, Ferrari FF, Mercedes SLS AMG, Roush Mustang, Bentley Continental GT, Audi R8 V01 Plus, Aston Martin One-77, Nissan GTR and Mercedes SL36 AMG. Also included are the BMW M6 Gran Coupe and Mercedes G36 AMG, modified by Brabus.

Dubai Police added the Bugatti Veyron to its fleet with the aim of strengthening the security presence of its policemen in important tourism spots, such as the Khalifa Tower, the Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Boulevard, JBR and others, as well as to intensify the interest about cars, machines and equipment, and to keep up with the highest international standards and new technological and scientific updates, which will contribute to improving security and promoting tourism in Dubai, the meeting point of culture and heritage.
