Hamza Dayy reveals reasons of emotional divorce in Tunisia

The Tunisian psychologist, Dr. Hamza Dayy, revealed that a new phenomenon called "Psychological emotional divorce" has emerged in Tunisiam, in which the marital relationship in which the husband and wife feel cold feelings between them, adding that this is reflected in all behaviors within the family.

Dayy added in interview with Arabs Today that in order to achieve marital harmony, each husband must work to fulfill the needs of the other side. "The needs of men are usually tangible physical needs, and women's needs are psychological and internal," he stated.

He stressed that the emotional relationship between the couple is characterized by lack of communication and cold feelings, and this type of divorce has spread especially among new couples. "First year of marriage is the most difficult stages of marriage, especially as most couples lack the skills of communication and knowledge of the other," he added.

Dayy said that it is one of the common mistakes that a woman does for her husband, and another practiced by a man, that each of them tries to satisfy the other part's desires from his concept.

He stressed that the difference in psychological, physical, emotional and material needs between them is due to the large number of biological differences between men and women, which means many differences in the way their thoughts, in addition to the lack of sexual relationship's experiences for both, which may destroy the marital relation.

Dayy believes that the wife has a great role in repairing the relationship, because she usually leads the way in her family, where the husband relinquishes these difficult tasks, leaving the responsibility to her.

"Therefore, women must absorb all the practices and methods that may help them to extract feelings buried in the husband, especially since the nature of men usually tend to secrecy and silence and distance from the verbal expression of feelings, believing that women have a lot of possibilities to use effectively," he indicated.

Dr. Hamza Dayy pointed out that one of the most important methods of psychological treatment of the relationship is the physical contact, where touching between couples is one of the most important elements of love, affection and warmth and strengthen the relationship between them, and its effects are positive on the couple.
