The fashion club Mr. Arbil
Mosul - Arab Today

A group of Kurdish people attempted to underline the brighter image of Iraq through establishing a fashion club in which the men wear the latest fashion designs in the Western countries. They called their club “Mr. Arbil”. The new club, which is the first of its kind in Iraq, has 30 members and over 30 thousand followers on Instagram.

The fashion club present narrow customs and trousers that gather between the modernity and cultural heritage, while the objective is not limited to the fashions. The idea extends to the political side, as “Mr. Arbil” aims to support the Kurdish cultural position not only on the internal side but also the international arena. It also aims to achieve social changes and to challenge the tradition habits related to the women.

The group is keen to underline the effects of the endless conflict witnessed in Iraq on the lives of women, praising the role performed by the Kurdish singer Dashni Murad. They said, “Mourad exerts a lot of efforts to support humanity, love and peace. How an astonishing role that she performs in our community.”
