Khartoum - Arab Today

In a rare action, a Sudanese football referee raised his pistol in the face of players of Sudan’s football team of Al Sahm during their match before Ahly Al Qadaref on Tuesday.

According to Sudanese reports, the referee signaled a goal for Ahly team raising the protest of Sahm’s player who attempted to attack the referee. He, in return, raised a gun in their face to defend himself.

Administrative official of Sahm Magdy Babaker said that he turned to the playground to calm the players, saying that they were feeling that the referee was targeting them since the beginning of the match. He added that the administration of his club took legal measures against the referee.

He called the Sudanese Football Federation to interfere to protect the clubs from the biased positions adopted by the referees, saying that they strongly harmed the game in Sudan and undermined a large number of matches
