Zagreb - XINHUA

Croatia's 13th "Chinese Bridge" event, a Chinese language contest for college students, was held in Zagreb, the capital of Croatia, on Saturday. Six competitors from Croatian universities made speeches about "my Chinese dream", answered questions related to China and showed their artistic talent. First place went to Marija Simag, a student from social sciences faculty of Zagreb University who was followed by the Ivana Katic, a student from same university. The two will have the opportunity to go to China to participate in the global finals contest set for central China's Changsha city later this year. The "Chinese Bridge" Competition is an annual event organized by the Hanban and the Confucius Institute of China since 2002, which aims to encourage foreign students to learn Chinese.
