Sanaa - Ali Rabea

A local source in the governorate of Hadramout in eastern Yemen said that on Tuesday, an unmanned aircraft which was believed to be American, carried out an air raid on a house due to possible members of al-Qaeda living there. The source told Arabstoday that the nearby inhabitants heard four explosions caused by the suspected aircraft.  The source said that the house is owned by Ben Salem, a resident of the Alhishm area. However, there have been no confirmed casualties. An official at the Supreme Security Committee of Yemen said that the Committee held a special meeting to discuss the approach of the Yemeni President Abed Rabbo Mansour Hadi, regarding the air raid that killed twelve civilians in Rada in El Bayda governorate on Sunday which was confirmed as an accident. Sources close to the leaders of al-Qaeda confirmed in a telephone interview with Arabstoday that US unmanned air raids managed to kill 30 of their members in the last two weeks.   In that same evening, tribal gunmen blew up a major pipe line that was transporting crude oil in the east of Sanaa. The daily loss of Yemenis petrol was $ 15 million, according to government officials. Unknown men blew up an oil well in Marib, east of the capital Sanaa as they threw two bombs in the oil field of Raydan and destroying the principal fuse. Local sources told Arabstoday that al- Qaeda members are suspected to be behind the bombings in which nobody was injured.
