New York - UPI

Crude oil prices rose above $90 per barrel Tuesday morning with tensions between Turkey and Syria adding pressure to the market. Border skirmishes between the two countries have escalated, raising concern that oil supplies could be disrupted with the conflict also affecting exports from Iraq. On the New York Mercantile Exchange, West Texas Intermediate crude for November delivery added $1.29 to $90.62 per barrel. Natural gas prices shed 3.8 cents to $3.365 per million British thermal units. Home heating oil added 3.52 cents to $3.1795 per gallon. Reformulated blendstock gasoline was up 0.629 cents to $2.956 per gallon. At the pump, the average price for a gallon of regular unleaded gasoline was $3.815 per gallon, down from Monday's $3.818, AAA reported.
