British Ambassador to Algeria Martyn Roper announced on Sunday that staff of British Petroleum (BP) company will resume their duties soon in the north African country. BP is still committed to continuing its activities in Algeria. Therefore, its employees will be back soon to Algeria, Ambassador Roper said in a press statement following a ceremony of signing agreements between Sonelgaz, a state-owned utility in charge of electricity and natural gas distribution in Algeria, and a number of British companies specialized in the field of training in energy and mines sector. BP had taken out its non-essential employees from its operations across Algeria due to terrorist assault that took place in the city of Amenas, south of the Algerian capital, last January, which targeted the Tigantourine gas facility and led to the killing of 38 people.
