Qatar News Agency launched a new version of the site Live from Qatar "www.QatarBroadcast.qa with a view to improving the site's performance and increasing its capacity to receive visitors.
Director of QNA Technical Affairs Department Engineer Khaled Al-Mutawa said the layout of the site has been entirely changed to keep pace with modern design, explaining that an interactive interface compatible with all types of devices and screen sizes has been set for easy use for both desktop computers or mobile devices of all sizes. The site works with Arabic and English languages interfaces, he added.
Al-Mutawa said in a statement that the possibility of browsing the recorded material through the site for users of mobile devices and smartphones has been fixed. Moreover an experimental broadcasting for Al-Bidaa channel has been added to bring the number of channels that are broadcast to six television channels and six radio stations, as well as the use of a technology that enables an increased number of users and the geographical distribution of the broadcasting so that the user can receive from the nearest place available among six data centres geographically dispersed on several areas.
He added that shifting between the recorded material for up to five days and the live broadcasting has been improved, in addition to the improvement of the image and sound quality .
The website encompasses links to site's broadcasting applications that run on Apple and Android devices and also contains links to photo and video albums of Qatar News Agency and links to Qatari newspapers.(QNA) Live from Qatar is a website broadcasting the State of Qatar’s official television channels and radio stations to the world over the internet.
The website encompasses another group of additional services including live news from the State of Qatar by Qatar News Agency (QNA), exclusive photography of the State, links to Qatari newspapers, and means of contacting QNA.
The Technical Support department at Qatar News Agency developed an advanced system to broadcast the State’s official stations and channels over the internet. Other bodies in the State are provided with secure transmission sources. Programming, design, and system optimization by Qatar News Agency. Live from Qatar includes a video-on-demand service, which records programming for a period of up to three days for later viewing. It allows the viewer to access any desired program at any time.
Live from Qatar is the first of its kind in the Arab world, grouping broadcasts from state channels and stations in one place through a governmental body specializing in Qatari media and disseminating it to the world. As previously mentioned, the website’s video-on-demand feature is the first of its kind internationally enabling viewers to access their favorite programs out of their original timeframe without any subscription.
The State of Qatar boasts an extensive presence on the internet. A number of websites have been developed through Qatar News Agency, including one catering to the Arab child’s media which is the first of its kind in the Middle East, to visit: www.qnakids.com.
