New Suez Canal
Cairo - MENA

The Egyptian Radio and Television Union (ERTU) will produce two movies which will document the New Suez Canal due to be opened on Thursday.

The documentaries are part of the body's celebrations marking the opening.

The first movie will be named 'Under the Sun", while the other movie will be named "100 percent perfect".

Egypt inaugurates the New Suez Canal on Thursday, which will massively increase the capacity of the existing canal and offer an important chance to boost the country’s struggling economy.

The 72-kilometer new project involves a 37-kilometer new waterway and deepening and expansion of the existing 145-year-old Suez Canal along a 35-kilometer stretch.
