Alanis Morisette has new, blonde hair.
The 40-year-old singer debuted the look Wednesday on Instagram. Morisette is known for her long, dark wavy tresses, but now sports a shorter haircut with dark roots and bright blonde ends.
"New hair," she captioned the picture. "Girl needed to have a little fun ;) ps-- blondes are, in fact, treated differently. this is one of the many effects of work addiction recovery :) #spontaneity #easybreezy #makeupforlosttime #healing."
Morisette recently revealed her struggle with post-traumatic stress disorder to Oprah Winfrey on Super Soul Sunday. The episode is scheduled to air September 21, and will see the singer discuss the early experiences with fame that left her "traumatized."
"The traumatized person, in this case, me, gets traumatized by the thing I thought would be the balm," she related. "I thought that everything would be helped and soothed and healed by fame."
Morisette released her eighth studio album, Havoc and Bright Lights, in 2012.
